Data Destruction Options:
Option 1 (FREE): Data Sanitation or Shredding
UpTeKK offers two secure methods for handling your hard drives. Firstly, we can repurpose your HDD by reformatting it using a Department of Defense approved program. This program executes a 10-pass wipe, completely destroying any previous data stored on the hard drive. Alternatively, we can send your HDD to our trusted metal recycling vendor for shredding, turning it into scrap metal. As a Microsoft registered refurbisher, UpTeKK will provide you with a certificate of data destruction upon request. This certificate includes names, dates, and signatures of UpTeKK employees responsible for delivering and wiping your hard drives. It also specifies the number of HDDs collected from you for data destruction.
Option 2 ($4 Fee per Drive): Certificate of Data Destruction with Serial Numbers
UpTeKK will scan your HDDs for serial numbers and include them on an extended certificate of data destruction for your records. Following this, Option 1 (Data Sanitation or Shredding) will be performed.
Option 3 ($8 per Drive): HDD Drilling with Photos
For added security, UpTeKK offers HDD drilling with photographic documentation. Using a drill press, we render your HDD useless and unreadable to computers or software. We will provide you with pictures of the hard drives as well as serial numbers with documentation via email.
