UpTeKK understands the importance in this day and age of making sure your data is safely and securely disposed of. To often we hear of digital thieves getting a hold of data for nefarious purposes. We want to make sure you know that we dedicate the needed time and effort to ensure that all media that comes through our facility is scrubbed clean and destroyed. We do this to ensure nothing comes out the other side.
Data destruction options
Option 1 is done automatically for FREE unless another option is chosen.
Option 2 has a $4 fee per drive
Option 3 has a $8 fee per drive
Option 1: Data sanitation or shredding
UpTeKK chooses to either re-purpose your HDD by reformatting using a Dpt. of Defense approved program. This program does a 10 pass wipe of the hard drive completely destroying any previous data that was stored there. Or we send your HDD to our metal recycling vendor to be shredded for scrap metal. UpTeKK is a Microsoft registered refurbisher. Additionally, UpTeKK will email you a certificate of data destruction upon request. This certificate will include names, dates and signatures for which UpTeKK employee’s were responsible for delivering and wiping your hard drives. This free certificate will also indicate how many HDD’s we collected from you for data destruction.
Option 2 ($4 fee per drive): Certificate of data destruction with serial numbers
UpTeKK will scan your HDD’s for serial numbers and include them on a expanded certificate of data destruction for your records. Following this Option 1 of Data sanitation or shreding will be preformed.
Option 3 ($8 per drive): HDD drilling with photos
UpTeKK will use a drill press to drill a hole through your HDD rendering it useless and unreadable to computers or software. We will document this with pictures of your hard drives and send this documentation to you via email. If requested, we can also scan for serial numbers before the drilling process and provide you with a certificate of data destruction or we can provide you with the simpler certificate at your discretion. Once the hard drive has been destroyed by us, we then send it along with other HDD’s to our metal recycling vendor to be shredded for scrap metal.
